Hockey Coaching
Hockey coaching can be difficult and stressful at times. The kids may not want to listen or you just cannot figure out your game plan. No matter what the issue is; below are three easy steps you can take to make your hockey coaching obligations run more smoothly.
Your hockey players, especially if they are younger, need to continue to have a good time even when things are serious. For this reason, it is always a good idea to receive feedback from them. Such feedback can consist of whether or not they are enjoying the hockey practices, how they feel about your game plan, or if they have any ideas for you. This will not only help to keep them from goofing of due to boredom, but will also make them feel like they are really contributing to the makeup of the team.

Try to get at least two other regular hockey coaches to help you out. A goalie coach, since he will need individual training or an assistant head coach can provide you with the additional assistance you require. It will be nice to have adult allies around, and two more people to help with tasks, when things get wild.
Organization and hockey coaching seminars or classes will keep you at the top of your game. Classes can also give you new ideas to work with and keep you informed on systems that have worked for other hockey coaches.
Hockey coaching can be hard on both you and the players. These steps can help to make you the type of hockey coach that you want to be, one that can show the kids fun while teaching them fundamentals at the same time. All of these steps will help to keep your team from getting too unruly and help you to keep your sanity when everything is going wrong.
